Reliving the HISTORY!!!

As I sit here & write ,what I’m doing is nowhere sinful yet what my fellas would call a case of adultery or in much simpler terms betrayal . I’m aware that of all those whom I shall be accusing are regarded very dear to this land &paternal in their duties. Yet I wish to resolve my queries by putting them into question. All those I talk about are long dead yet their deeds remain…indeed deeds!! Their contribution for the freedom of my land is unquestionable yet there remain some questions that started from a DEATH .

Death of Mahatma .Death of the father of this nation. Death of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi .

When I call him Mahatma I do not regret it. Never have I! However, Gandhi’s paternal duties came under my minds scanner when I learnt that Gandhi’s death was a murder . He was fired 3 rounds of bullet by a Hindu fanatic immediately after his prayers on the evening of January 30th,1948. A man ever so respected being murdered remained a point of inquisitiveness throughout my teenage. I yield some facts through the research I have been doing since then. And yet those facts ain’t sufficient enough to make me believe that spoken truth! I make an attempt to lay down what I gather.

When I watch the movie 'Gandhi' trying to look for some material to support my hypothesis , I realize and see all together a different perspective that the movie shows! It portrays a Gandhi who is selfish. The movie that was a production of a British, begins with Gandhi being thrown outa the berth coz he was an Indian and it appears that Gandhi comes back to India only so as to avenge that incident & gain the lost respect! The movie tries to bring out the true politician in Gandhi and at every point highlights the incidences where he tried to act one!!

Further what falls in my realm of questions is Nehru’s speech on the occasion of freedom .'At the stroke of midnight hour…'it says! He utters these soulful words in a language that remains alien to the millions of masses of his country even after 100years of British rule!! Why a language that was hardly understood by few ???? Furthermore a son of a mere freedom fighter falls under a trap when he has that financial ability to take his higher education from London and where he owns luxuries like car (not to mention a very rare luxury then) The possibility of which is quiet acute ,for the freedom fighters of the time where heard to lay down not only their lives ,flesh and blood but those campaigns also would have required economic base. And having said that I see handful of …rather very rare such families, today, who belong to the sect of freedom fighter and still stand tall with their money power. Does that mean the Nehru –Gandhi’s were capable to get financial backing from the enemies???? Uhhannn you never know ‘coz this is Politics!!!!

Rewinding the words of Godse, the assassin of Mahatma justified his move and said thus during his trial in the court of law. 'I see Gandhi not as the father of our nation but father of Pakistan!!!!' Born in a Brahmin family Godse though respected his religion but equally sided Equality. He organized dinners where folks from all caste’s were invited. He was a follower of globe’s prominent thinkers. And Gandhi & Savarkar were key players in shaping his outlook, he says. Gandhi words ‘raghupati raghav rajaram’ shaped Godse!! This how Godse became a part of Hindu sanghas. His followed groups did support Gandhi campaigns but after demise of Tilak a moving change that took place in Gandhi and his behavior could be attributed as a main cause for Godse’s this step! Gandhi after Tilak’s demise rose to power and became the ultimate word for congress.

Gandhi preached principles if looked at carefully are nothing new but it must be understood that violence is an utter necessity for the survival of human race!!To speak in the language of Gandhi ‘Ram &Krishna’…Ram fought the mighty Ravan to rescue his wife Sita, while Krishna gave a fought against his maternal uncle Kansa to free his parents from his clutches!!by defying their heroism Gandhi emerges to as a person with paradoxical beliefs that also leaves his image as a powerless and apprehensive human. Also it becomes quiet vaguely clear that after Gandhi’s return from Africa he wished to become the sole judge! It was demanded by him a complete surrender of the nation & congress in his will or congress would have to do without him!!!

Gandhi’s biggest blunder that became quiet evident to the masses was his failure of civil disobedience movement but there were other mix-ups’ of his that remained significantly inevident. He who was a staunch advocator of Hindi when realizes that this language is disliked by Muslim masses gives up & supports a language like Hindustani which never even existed!!! Pointing out Muslim sect here was important to let my folks decide as to, was it out sheer self-interest to gain more respect in their eyes or was there any other reason???? Further when wars between Hindu-Muslims continued to terrify our land his mere plea could have sorted out the problems even when the government of then was inactive, yet he kept his mum!!

It is also envisaged by critics that Nehru –Gandhi might have played politics one to make their hold strong in the country and two to wash Jinnah outa the country borders so that the sole competition faced by them from Jinnah and his league is also washed off .it is seen that if Jinnah, who was a man of determination and will ,would have been the prime minister of this country had this country not be divided!!

The aim of this writing isn’t to evoke hatred for Gandhi or Nehru or to justify Godse’s act but the underlying & sole intention is to give my folks an entirely different angle to our history that might have some hidden political meaning attached to the happenings of that time!!!!
