Yodha Of Ayodhya Wins The Case???

I stand in the midst of the storm. Its thundering. Its lightning. Its pouring evils. I guiess this is an outcry. The outcry of the deads, the martyrs as ‘they’ called them…..the verdict is out after 20 long years. But the question pertains - Is the justice done????
Ayodhya issue spurted in 1992 with the demolition of Babri Masjid built by Mughal emperor Babur. The issue is decades old. It is the fire that was lit by the ‘divide and rule’ policy of the British government. This divide was the base of all the communal tensions that broke out and which persists to emerge from time to time.
The bench of 3 pronounced the verdict which seemed to be in the favor of Hindus. The warrior of the soil won the verdict. But the question remains-is that all that they have to put forward? Individual opinions was the basis of this verdict, wasn’t it? Has it occurred to anyone –this bench of 3 comprised of 2 hindu judges and just 1 muslim judge to decide on the matters….so isn’t it likely that the judgement would tilt!! I wish peace , I wish communal harmony , but most of all I wish EQUALITY! And so the question is why no equal representation was given to both the sects. Why not have 2 hindu judges and 2 muslim judges ?
These questions might seem silly and naïve to some of you but as a Yuva of this country and as the citizen of this country I ask for Answers!!
The whole appeal part before the verdict involved the appeals from different people from all walks of life-poets, filmstars, army officers, scientists but most importantly the appeals came from the Political parties! The parties involved in the massacre , who were the major cause for the demolition…came forward with the peace messages. So is this the true beginning of altogether a new era in the Indian politics? Or is this yet another political strategy to appease and appeal the minority votes? Or does this show that these parties have outgrown their conservative attitude and are adopting liberal views as the citizens of this nation have?
The directives given to the media of the country –not to broadcast or publish any matter that would squeeze the communal tensions –was no doubt blindly followed but I ask who will answer these questions if not for media? These questions will rise at some point and might create more disastrous consequences, what then?
Resting my case I wait for the SC verdict that might take more 20 years and may be the issue will be celebrating its 40th anniversary when I celebrate the birthday of my 18 yr old child!!

  1. That is exactly the point...a simple fact btw - during the judgement the Hindus have been told that they cannot ignore the rights of the Muslims. The representatives of the minority community have, in turn, been told that if what happened five hundred years ago (building of Babri mosque AFETR DEMOLISHING A RELIGIOUS HINDU STRUCTURE) cannot be totally ignored, then what happened sixty years ago (placing the hindu idols inside the mosque) can also not be ignored..everyone has got something out of the verdict...no one is completely outraged or disappointed...the verdict - is fair enough...as for 2 judges being Hindu and one Muslim...well, had there been 2 Muslims and 1 Hindu - a few covetous and staunch Hinduists would have surely raised a huge outcry...all in all hats off to India - the country that has matured... :)

  2. Hey guess What.... I truly appreciate whtever the verdict was.... coz if the affair wud tend to be a one sided one... then, there would have been another situation created as an outcome which would again require another verdict...
it's been a peaceful phenomena..the entire verdict thign and i hope it stays so !

  3. hey Siddhi... good one..:-) very well writtten. but even i think there should have been 2 muslim and 2 hindu judges.. though v being hindus r satisfied with the verdict, the sunni waqf has already announced dat they wil approach SC. the last line which u wrote seems so true after this dat SC wil take more 20 yrs for the decision wen this case wil b celebrating its 40th anniversary. i really dont understand the problem of our judiciary system. why does it damn take so long to give a decision. the same happened with the bhopal gas tragedy. and it seems the same wil happen with Kasab. though the death sentence has been announced in his case, God alone knows how long they r going to take for the actual action.
