I know this is my usual line..'as i sit here and think about so and so topic..' but i guess this how it is and has been all my life-Thinking ,Contemplating and then the itch that forces me to pen it down ! Whatever topics i have discussed till date have always been little too touchy or little too serious or little too whatever types but i don't know how will i be able to pull of this piece.
I've seen a movie...a Hollywood movie ..i don't intend to be a critic to it but i talk about it because its been haunting me ever since i have seen it.....not exactly haunting but am kinda stuck in t awe situation .May be grammatically the previous sentence was not correct but I'm seriously stuck in a thought-process surrounding the movie which i saw a month ago......'Curious Case Of Benjamin Button'
The movie stars Brad Pitt and is directed by David Fincher. I f it came to rating the movie i would rate it is nine and a half on 10....half gets left out because there is something that disappointed me of which i will talk about later as i review the movie....As a class assignment we were shown this movie .In the start i did find it quiet similar to 'Paa' ,a Bollywood movie starring Amitabh Bachchan but later i realized what exquisite piece of work was Benjamin Button and how much thinking and imagination was involved to workout something so incredible like it!
I'm not a movie junkie.I hardly know anything technical involving movie making. To be frank, in-spite of working in a movie (for college project) i hardly understand acting or direction! But after i saw this movie and after i wrote its review it dawned upon me that it does not take knowledge about the technique and processes to review a movie rather it requires an eye for acknowledging art.Lover of art know and possess the knowledge to review almost anything and everything.
Coming back to the movie....
This movie is something which does not fit in the natural process of life-cycle.What is shown is definitely imagination and unrealistic but it does set the audience thinking....'o! this can happen!' or 'o! can this happen?'The story has got a very jerky start ...i would call it unnecessary detailing and the sole disappointment which i previously referred to is that it is a bit too slow in the beginning. The movie picks up speed not until its first half. The story gets its effectiveness not only because of Pitt's acting skills or Fincher's directing skills but also because of the polished and truly appreciative make-up that makes the character of Benjamin appear more real ! Make-up is something that becomes an eminent part of the movie and an important vehicle that takes the story ahead. The movie is a story within a story and progresses with frequent flashbacks and flash forwards. The movie comes out as a real life situation because of extremely good use of apt sound effect and music. The movie in-spite of being little too draggy (in the beginning ) is still a one time watch and is sure to amaze its audience.
The sole description of the movie can be given as-'a race against time' or we could conclude that it 'turns the life-cycle around'.Turning the life-cycle upside down is no doubt the theme of the movie yet the changes in the looks of Brad Pitt with the progression of time makes him more "Wanted" amongst the female audience!!
amazing review...but i lykd the frst paras mor thn the review...lol
ReplyDeletedun mind...
but as always ur language rely floors me time and again :)
The best part of the movie is the story-telling...its a herculean effort to make a movie like dis...requires a lot of creativity and brains...as for Brad - definitely not his best - it's all kudos to the make-up artist...

ReplyDeleteHere I go ...
Seriously speaking, even I was very much excited to see this movie after watchin it's trailer, but due to some reasons (obviously exams), I couldn't.
The reason for me to see this movie was, of course Brad Pitt. Ya he is a great actor, but at a time I see him as a young dude .. d next scene he is again an old man .. I was confused (What role is he actually playing ???).
But now after reading your view for dis movie even I am again excited to watch this movie.
Thanks for it & hope I will not get bored for the 1st part you specified !!
