More than the news part i have always loved reading the editorials. Editorials are said to be priceless valued views of the experts and editors on a particular current issue. It is always said, to widen the horizon of one's thoughts and views do read editorials!
Out of habit i first open up edit page of The Times of India's 17th November issue of 2010.What attracts my attention the most is the article 'The Change we need.' Sounds good, i think 'lets just check what is it really talking about !' The sub-head gives me a clear picture ,this article is talking about the recent housing scandal of Mumbai's Adarsh housing society which involves many well-known politicians and Bureaucrats.Scams after scams stand exposed and the culprits are the leaders from the Ruling party!
I look at the byline .' WOW! this gotta be something !',i think .Milind Deora, a MP has written this piece by assistance of Dhanrajgir, a Public policy associate at Netherlands institute of Human rights. 'Great', i think again.As i read through i realize what games the congress government is been playing.Deora is quiet supportive of media in this piece and congratulates them on the exposes they are carrying out . Indeed, an applause to the Indian media from my side as well ! However, to me the article is shameless as well as shameful of such acts. I say shameless because it does not blame the government for the delays in identifying such scams instead the article is positive that no such scam will come out during the tenure of Prithviraj Chavan.Points out the article ,'His process-driven management will be a shot in the arm for a city...' I ask on what basis can one say this?? Have you any authentic proof ??? Is this the only way you can assure us? Well , not a bad try at all.First you guys play this rotten game and when you get caught what do you do?- Simple, apologies and try to clear out your parties image by writing such articles !
The article is way to optimistic of 'The Change' our new CM can bring. Moreover it talks about what our future shall be ...our brighter future which will be shining by 2030! But till then what will entertain us Mr. MP?? Well , the magic ball says, 'more such scams and scandals !!'
Politicians are Politicians!
Moving on the article blames the BMC of Mumbai.Well, well,yet another game huh! Now the blame game!! As it is so very clear that the BMC of Mumbai is governed by the Opposition so the trick is so pull them into the scene and plant the seeds of hatred against them as well ...'doobna he hai toh sabko sath leke doobtein hain!' Claps for that Mr. Deora!
Be it UPA or NDA both the parties are two sides of the same bloody corrupt coin ...'Khota sikha! ' India is yet to get a political party that is ideologically strong and supportive of its audience.India has already risen ,says Obama but i say 'Yes Mr. President, India has risen but the ratio inclines more to be on the corruption side!' With both these parties being so corrupt and ideologically weak-kneed I don't think i will ever press the voting button for either of them ! And not voting for them in my sense is 'Being Politically Correct!'

this blame game is the inherent part of any country. Only thing in our country is it gets hyped no end but without solutions for the same
ReplyDeletealso, our esteemed newspaper editors are always going to be biased towards some politician or the other for obvious reasons and this is where the entire purpose of media seems at times

ReplyDeletethe indian media truely deservs applause for their work.Its only due to the "check-n-control" policy of media that keeps these political guys on their toes.
Firstly...we need young politicians to stand up and clean the mess our mahaan buddha (i feel no shame) netas have done...when Rahul said the Mah CM shud be no less than 50..i was like y not?!?!..who knows this 'Chavan' maybe worse than the other!!...either there's an idiot taking RGV for a walk at the place which marred the lives of the mubaikars or there's a cheapo happily involved in a building scam...call me cynical but the future of Indian politics is not going to change unless we have capable young people with a fresh mindset (one of em includes you - mind it Sid!)...
ReplyDeletei agree- your views are objective and impartial which we cannot expect from newspapers at all times. However ur thought of having a political party that is ideologically strong seems to be a distant dream. But as a drop of poison can spoil a whole pot of milk,its our duty to acknowledge and empower right persons before it is too late.

Corruption is increasing... new scandals.. everyday. recently 3 days ago a building near yamuna river collapsed.... dont knw how many such scams n scandals r going to come out.. v need to do sumthing. Divya is rite. v need youth leaders.. the young generation shud do sumthing like in 'rang de basanti'..

ReplyDeleteI would like to post my views which are just similar to others but the methodology to put them in action is way different! I agree with all that the bloody old politicians who have been robbing us for years must be replaced by young politicians! Well, we can wait for the wound to heal by itself or we spring into action, apply some germ killer and then an ointment to heal the wound! Choice is ours! Do note that the latter is a much quicker and better option! Just like the germ killer kills the germs, kill the dirt in our country first(bloody old politicians), then clean up the mess and then apply a new ointment (educate masses and find able young men and women to take the job) who later will cover up for the loss that these bloody people created!
